UC Davis Information & Educational Technology

ET Partners

The Educational Technology (ET) Partners Program offers a select group of UCDavis students as technology advisors to individual faculty or academic departments at no cost. The students provide support for the following key campus instructional technology applications:

The support is available in three ways:

  • One-on-one meetings in your office
  • One-on-one meetings in 1440 Surge II
  • Departmental 'Partnerships' for one or two quarters

Our one-on-one meetings can be initiated with a request from you (a faculty member), or, at the request of IT Express to follow up on an incomplete support call between yourself and an ITExpress staff person.

Our departmental "partnerships" are usually applied for by a Chair of an academic department, to assist their faculty with a specific educational technology goal. Occasionally, these partnerships can result from a collaboration of multiple faculty, and can involve multiple departments. The main goal is that these partnerships result in helping increase faculty expertise in how to use the various technologies that are available on our campus for instruction. For more information on departmental partnerships, contact ET Partners at (530) 754-2115, or by email: etpartners@ucdavis.edu.

The ET Partners have developed many useful "Tech Tips" for faculty who are having difficulty using these applications and more. Guides for Breeze, PowerPoint and a wide variety of other topics related to technology commonly used in teaching at UC Davis are available at: http://facultysupport.ucdavis.edu/techtips/

We have also developed Tech Tips for SmartSite, the new course management system which are available within the application. If you would like to pilot SmartSite for either a project site or a course site - please go to http://smartsite.ucdavis.edu and fill in an application form. If you are already a SmartSite pilot - Thank-you!! - you will find our Tech Tips under Support and Training located on the left-hand Navigation bar.
